Take Action

"David takes his stick and will choose five smooth stones at the edge of the torrent. He puts them in his shepherd's bag. He takes his sling in his hand and walks towards Goliath." 1 Samuel 17:40

David against Goliath. Who does not know this biblical anecdote, so famous that it has even become an expression for an unequal confrontation between two people ?

God sees in you an extraordinary, unique and precious potential. He wants to use you for his glory ...

Let's see the scene: the young boy rushes towards the dreaded giant, he strikes him with a single stone and Goliath crumbles on the spot, defeated. What an extraordinary and unexpected ending! What a reversal of the situation for David, this adolescent despised by the rest of his family, relegated to the rank of shepherd, an ungrateful task usually reserved for slaves ... Suddenly, David switches from being a forgotten to a hero! All the astonished glances turn to him and the army of Israel galvanized by his example and by his faith will win one of his most brilliant victories over his enemies !

If one admires the audacity of David, it is perhaps less easy to imagine what enabled this victory : alone, in the pastures, far from glances and applause, David has for weeks and months Trained to handle the sling, developing his skill, refining his shot until he was certain of reaching his target every time. At that moment, David does not know that he will one day shoot down a seasoned warrior on a battlefield. His only goal is to be a reliable and conscientious shepherd, able to defend his sheep against wild beasts or malicious prowlers.

But if his entourage is not there to applaud, an invisible but very present spectator smiles at David. He admires his combativeness, his seriousness, his whole heart. God sees in David an extraordinary potential and decides to make him the future king of Israel, a tomb of giants, a blessing for his people.

In the same way that God looked at David, he discerned within you an extraordinary, unique and precious potential. He wants to use you for his glory, the advancement of his kingdom and to associate you with his triumph. Yet his plan can only be accomplished on one condition : take action ! Prepare yourselves ! Like David, train, set goals in your daily life : dare to testify to a person, forgive, give, love, pray, hope against hope ... You will rejoice the Father's heart, fill him with contentment , And you will see how He will make use of you.

A decision for today

Lord, from now on I decide to take action in my daily life and to practice victory in what I live. I beg you to give me a whole heart, humble and courageous, so that I may be faithful where I am in all that you have entrusted to me.
