Take off the strips !

John 11:44 - And the dead man came out with his feet and hands bound in bands, and his face wrapped in a cloth. Jesus said to them : "Loose him, and let him go."

Lazare is risen, that is marvelous ; but there he is bound by bands. Hard to do anything like that, right ? In addition, his face is wrapped in a cloth. Not easy to move forward, eh ? Jesus could have knocked off all those bandages with one word. But no, he asks those who are spectators of this resurrection to take action and to untie Lazarus. But what can these strips represent ?

These bands are ties that prevent us from moving forward in God's work and entering our destiny. Because of this, our feet cannot go and announce the good news of the Gospel, our hands cannot work at the work of God, we are alive because we have received the life of Jesus but we are "dead". These links prevent us from fully living our resurrection.

And that cloth that wraps the face ? Even though Lazarus received the life of Jesus, he cannot see it, his hearing is also less, his balance as well. Have you ever tried to walk with a cloth on your head ? Try it, you will see how easy it is !

Many of us have received the life of Jesus, but we do not walk in the life that Jesus gave to them because we are bound by so and so many things. Sin envelops us so easily ! The Lord delivers but He chose to use men and women to participate in this full and complete deliverance. We need others and God has decided to need us !

Now we would like to make a small remark. So many of us found ourselves bound and blinded by our own actions, Lazarus was bound by men (he couldn't do it himself since he was dead, right ?). These strips, in this case, could represent all these words of death spoken on a person, these words of condemnation, of wickedness. Here too the Lord asks men and women : "Take off these bands, speak words of life on this person, show your love".

In conclusion, God can do anything but He chose to use men and women. We need each other. So let’s accept that God uses people to allow us to move forward in our life in God and agree to work with God to bless and become one of those who will take the wraps off.
