That others see God in you !

We will go with you because we have learned that God is with you. Zechariah 8:23

The prophet Zechariah writes : "Many peoples and mighty nations will come to seek the Lord [...] and will say, We will go with you, for we have heard that God is with you." (Zechariah 8:22-23)

If people see God at work in your life, they will come to you. It happened to a certain Nicolas Herman. Unsatisfied with his life, he never ceased to worry about his salvation.

One day, while observing a tree, he was struck by the truth contained in verse 3 of Psalm 1 : founding and rooting his faith in God is the secret of all spiritual growth. He then decided to make his life a field of experience, which he summed up as follows : "A secret and regular interview with God, in the silence of his heart."

"If people see God at work in your life, they will come to you."

Today he is better known as Brother Laurent. You may have heard of him and his writings. Although he spent his life as a humble cook in a monastery, his relationship with God has been an inspiration to many people around the world. His friends said he found God in all things, both in odd jobs and in community prayer.

After his death, they published a collection of his letters and conversations, entitled "The Experience of the Presence of God", which has been among the largest prints of the past four centuries. Jesus said : "When I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw all men to me." (John 12:32)

Advice for today

The more you cultivate the presence of God in your life, the more others will be drawn to him. So, that others see God in you !
