The 4 phases of relationship with God

One of the great problems of the people of Israel, which prevented them from confronting Philistine Goliath, was that they had no intimacy with God. Some people have contact with God, others have a relationship with God, others have fellowship with God, others have intimacy with God. In my opinion, these are 4 different phases :

1 - Being in touch with God

2 - Being in relationship with God

3 - To be in communion with God

4 - Have an intimacy with God

Israel had contact with God. Through the law, through the prophets, the kings and the priests, the people came into contact with God. The servants of the Lord came into contact with God by their anointing, although the holy of holies was closed. Only the priests entered into communion with God once a year. And yet, David, who was still only a shepherd, had managed to go beyond the holy of holies! He had established with God a certain intimacy. It's so surprising ! And it was in such a dimension of relationship that Enoch entered. He had become God's friend, symbolizing in advance the bride of Christ, enjoying a strong intimacy with his Lord.

If you do not develop such intimacy with God, it will be difficult for you to talk about him. By our new birth, God has automatically transported us into the third phase of relationship : communion. "But our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ" (1 John 1: 3). Having been forgiven, we are in communion with him. We are no longer in a religion of contact with God, nor in a relationship of the court, the relationship "of the passage", but in communion with Him through the blood of Jesus. However, we must not rely on this communion and fall back into the first phase, that of contact! We must become intimate with God, and then we will talk about what we have known and experienced. We will speak the truth.
