The anatomy of the fear

I say to the Lord, You are my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust. Psalm 91.2

The fear. We have all met her. It's that weird feeling that takes you in the pit of your stomach. It is panic that can overwhelm you without warning. Everyone is afraid of something. We are human, after all.

A trending TV show invites contestants to face their fears by going through extreme situations - lying in vivariums full of spiders or snakes, jumping from a helicopter, or eating worms or earthworms. live insects. Certainly that's not how I see fun, but most of those who participate probably aren't doing it for fun either. They are simply trying to win the amount involved.

Existence usually brings its fair share of fears, and if you want to be successful in life, you will need to learn to deal with them. Fear gnaws at you and hinders your success. When you have to be daring and pugnacious, it makes you back down or hide, it makes you cowardly and timid. Fear is a thief who can steal your destiny from you. Your only reaction to her should be to proclaim, "I will not be afraid."

"Be firm in your resolve not to let fear rule your life."

Be firm in your resolve not to let fear rule your life. The stakes are far too high for you to take this colossal problem lightly. I bet if you looked closely at the difficulties you are having right now, you would find that most of them are related in some way or another to fear. Think... Your worries have their origin in fear; so are most of the problems of wanting to be in control.

When we let others rule us, it's because we are afraid. People who fear poverty often become greedy or stingy. Those who dread loneliness will develop relationships that harm them or the wrong people, but if you get over your fears, you are on your way to becoming a much more confident and healthier person.

An action for today

Learn to overcome your fears by trusting in God. He promised he wouldn't give up on you.
