The ascension of Isaiah !

2 Timothy 4.3 - For the time will come when men will not endure sound doctrine ; but, having the itch to hear pleasant things, they will give themselves a host of doctors according to their own desires.

The Ascension of Isaiah is an apocryphal book written in the 2nd century. Let's get it right, this is not the Bible, the unchanging Word of God, but it is interesting to see what the author (s) of this book "prophesied" for our time. I leave it to you to judge for yourselves.

"That then at the time of His coming His disciples would forsake the doctrine of the twelve, faith, charity, and their purity. For there will be a lot of arguing about His coming and His approaching. In those days, many will seek dignities, as if they were devoid of wisdom. There will be a great number of unjust old men, pastors oppressing their flocks, who have become rapacious because they did not resemble the holy shepherds. Many will exchange the modest clothes of the saints for the clothes of those who seek wealth ; in that time, we will mark preferences and those who love the world will be numerous. There will be much slander, slanderer, and vain glories at the approach of the Lord, and the Holy Spirit will withdraw from many.

At that time, there will not be many prophets, nor people who will say sure things, except in isolation, here and there ; because of the tendency to lie, fornication, vanity, avarice of those who will call themselves His servants and who will receive Him. There will be great mutual hatred among the pastors and the elders, for there will be great envy in the last days: each will speak what he wants. The predictions of the prophets who came before me and my visions will be neglected, to let only the boiling of the heart speak."
