The authority of the intimacy

When David came to the battlefield and spoke to Goliath about the Lord of hosts, David did not speak of a god he did not know. He was talking about his friend. And since he knew his friend, he had the authority to take his name and call on him. In the spiritual world, we can not call on a name we do not know. The sons of Sceva called on the name of Jesus, and they went away wounded and naked (Acts 19:16).

When we speak of Jesus around us, there will be great authority in our witness and preaching when we share a true intimacy with Jesus. I will always remember that around the age of 19, I always prayed "The Lord" and that my friend Michael Lebeau told me that "the Lord" was also my Father. It radically changed my thinking, and then my relationship with God. God was not only the God of the Old Testament, the God of David, but God became my Father, and it was much greater. The problem we often encounter is that we are talking about what we do not know. Jesus said to the Samaritan woman : "You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know" (John 4:22). Paul will also say that "the animal man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he can not know them..." (1 Corinthians 2:14).

What made the testimony of the first Christians strong was that they knew Christ, sharing his sufferings and carrying their crosses. We can not talk about what we do not know ! There is no worse seller than a person who does not know what she sells! We must go every day to the upper chamber, to the holy of holies, and beyond, and to come out "the face that radiates from the glory of God" (Exodus 34:35). It is then that to announce the Gospel will no longer be a legalistic or religious work, a command difficult to execute, but the mere continuity of our relationship of love with God. Let's love God, let's share his intimacy, and let's talk about our spouse with pride and joy, all around us !
