The Bible, what does it talk about ?

God, Creator of all things, does not content himself with making himself known through creation. He gives us a written revelation of Himself, a treasure over which He watched, from its writing to its transmission.

The Bible is not a book intended to flatter us: it reveals the deep nature of man, his responsibility before God, holy and just, and the judgment that sinful man deserves. But it also shows us that God loves us : he gave his Son, Jesus Christ, to spare us judgment and make us his children.

Its teachings are the truth, its precepts do not change. God places us before a decisive choice : darkness or light. But at the same time he tells us what he wants for us : "Choose life so that you live !" (Deuteronomy 30. 19).

Let us apply his word to our daily life. She is the light that will guide our steps, the nourishment that will sustain us morally, and she will encourage us. It's a living Word. Young or old, let us read it regularly and with prayer, let it act on our conscience.

The Christian can say : "Your promise gives me life... I rejoice in your word, like one who finds great spoil" (Psalm 119. 50, 162).

Your Word, pure light,

Light up and guide all our steps

So that we can, dear Father,

glorify you here below.

Your Word to his Son himself

Always wants to tie our hearts,

Unveiling the supreme glories

of the person of the Lord.
