The Church needs your prayers

Brothers and sisters, pray for us. 1 Thessalonians 5:25

The Church needs your prayers. Do you know why Paul had to remind the church in Thessaloniki to pray ? Either its members didn't or they forgot about it.

Prayer can build a wall that the enemy cannot bypass. It is a wall of believers who stand hand in hand and pray together against the works of the enemy, and for each other. A wall of believers is much stronger than a single believer who tries to fight on his own.

Paul was a strong man. Just think of all the difficulties he encountered : from shipwrecks to surrounding thieves, then stoning and torture, to imprisonment and beatings ; but he kept on getting up and going forward to preach the gospel. You know he wasn't a weak person.

Yet this mighty man of God said to the Church : I need your prayers. Paul knew that he could not do all that God called him to do without a wall of prayer erected around him, made up of believers standing in the breach and interceding on his behalf.

The Church needs your prayers. To accomplish all that God calls your local body to do, it takes faithful believers who stand together, pray together, and believe together, in order to accomplish God's purposes.

Listen to the voice of God

Let's take the time to listen to what God means. Perhaps there is a person that comes to your mind now that God is asking you to intercede for.

Praying is easy. Talk to God as you would your closest friend. God loves you and he can hear everything. Here is an example of a prayer : "Lord, help me to take the time to pray regularly for the matters which you will place on my heart."

Praise God

To praise God is to show him our gratitude. Today, what are your subjects of recognition ? Take a time to thank the Lord.

Act today

Now dig deeper into what you have received. What can you do to apply what God has told you ? Write down the concrete actions you can take.

Honor the Lord

Our route for the day comes to an end. Let us pray together to honor our God.

"Thank you Lord for the power of prayer. Yours be the kingdom, the power and the glory, amen !"
