The concern of love !
Galatians 4:20 - I would like to be with you now, and change my language, for I am worried about you.
Jesus taught us that worrying leads nowhere and that Heavenly Father knows what we need. Worry for ourselves is a form of unbelief, and the Word over and over again tells us : “Don't be afraid !".
But my point does not concern this concern there. I would like to talk about the worry for the loved one, the agonizing worries that are caused by love. As our text tells us, Paul had this kind of feeling.
A man was at the beach and he had lost his six-year-old daughter. He had scoured the streets of the city in all directions looking for her, but to no avail. At that moment, the voice of the Lord was heard in these words : "You feel now what I feel for the lost". Finally, after 2h30 of searching, he found his daughter in good health (in fact, as soon as he realized that he had lost her, he had prayed and at the same time, the Red Cross had collected).
The heart of God feels "concern" for those who are far from Him because He loves them deeply. This worry is innate in love, because love so wants the best for the other. From the Garden of Eden, the Creator will cry out this anguished phrase : “Where are you ?" (Genesis 3.9).
My beloved, it is difficult to resist the worry of love. The only thing we can do is rely on Him who is much greater than us. Let us hand over to Him our spouse, our parents, our children, all those whom we love and for whom we are worried. He will know how to take care of them with infinite tenderness. We could even say to Him : "Thank you Lord for taking care of those I cherish, for my part, I will seek those you cherish and who are lost !".
Good reflection.
