The cry of your heart broken

Do you believe that God wants to come quickly to solve your problem ? This is where many Christians miss the mark. They know that God has everything they need and they admit that He cares about them. But when He does not respond to their cry immediately, they think of all sorts of reasons why He might not want to come to their aid.

On Mount Carmel, Elijah spoke confidently of his God. He mocked the prophets of Baal by accusing their god of neglecting his children : They called on the name of Baal from morning till noon, saying, Baal answer us! But there was no voice or reply. At noon Elijah laughed at them, and said : Shout aloud, since he is a god ; he thinks of something, or he is busy, or he is traveling ; maybe he's asleep, and he'll wake up.

"And they cried aloud, and made themselves incisions, as was their custom, until the blood flowed on them. But there was no voice, no answer, no sign of attention (1 Kings 18: 26-29).

Listen to these words again : "But there was no voice, no answer, no sign of attention."

What Elijah describes is exactly what we accuse God of. We pray, we cry to God, but we continue on our journey without believing that He has heard us. We leave the presence of the Lord - we leave the Secret Place - asking ourselves if He paid attention to our cries.

The Lord is always ready to hear and respond when called for help. I love what David says about Him : "For you are good, Lord, you forgive, You are full of love for all those who invoke you ... I invoke you in the day of my distress, For you exauces" (Psalm 86: 5,7).

God is waiting for the cry of your broken heart, issued with childish faith.
