The danger of not wanting to hurt (continued)

Speaking of nature with this man, I showed him the passage of Romans which says : "In fact, the invisible perfections of God, his eternal power and his divinity, are seen from the creation of the world, they understand each other by this that he did..." (Romans 1:20). I used this passage to show him that we see in creation that God exists. He agreed with this fact, but for him (like many spiritual people in the "new age" and similar philosophies), God is not really "God," but rather an unlimited being, or love. I told him that God is love.

Reading this passage, I did not want to read verse 21. I do not think I wanted to tell him what he should hear. It was only 15 minutes after saying goodbye that I realized that verse 21 was absolutely the passage he had to hear and read, and that applied perfectly to his situation. I did not want to confront him ! When the Holy Spirit showed me that, I was ashamed and repented.

The passage I was to read to him says : "Indeed, the invisible perfections of God, his eternal power and his divinity, are seen from the creation of the world, they understand each other by what he has done. They are therefore inexcusable, since, while knowing God, they did not give him the glory he deserved as God and did not show him recognition ; on the contrary, they went astray in their reasoning and their heart without intelligence was plunged into darkness. They boast of being wise, but they have gone mad, and they have replaced the glory of the incorruptible God with images that represent the corruptible man, birds, quadrupeds and reptiles"(Romans 1: 20-23) .

I should have told this man that his situation was alarming and that when he finds himself before God, he will not be able to apologize for not having recognized God as God.
