The day of Good Samaritans

A Samaritan was filled with compassion for him (the injured one). He took care of himself. Luke 10.33-34

What an outfit ! This afternoon, in Saarbrücken, I stumble and do a glide, then I kiss the asphalt. From my cheekbone, blood squirts.

A passerby calls the emergency number. Five young people from the Turkish community provide me with handkerchiefs. At the Klinikum, a young doctor puts me in stitches and orders a CT scan.

In the tram, a young man, Yusuf, is intrigued by my bandages. I tell him about the concern of my German and Turkish “good Samaritans”, not to mention the Azeri nurse and the Ukrainian bus driver, all of whom take care of me !

Yusuf is also Turkish. I give her a little Christian book. No, he doesn't mind ! His people were able to help me, and it opens their hearts to my words...

I missed the last train, and a “good Lorrain” Christian from Sarreguemines is taking me home, to Alsace !

My story is only an introduction to the reading of the parable of the good Samaritan, which is offered to you today.
