The divine compass

The more the years pass, the more you have the feeling that time gallops, that it runs faster and faster in front of you and that it escapes you. Gisèle Casadesus, an actress who turned 100, testified in her biography : “And yet, all this life has passed so quickly !” The world in which we live today changes more and more quickly and in the space of a generation, all the landmarks seem to move, thus upsetting all our references, even our anchor points. Without forgetting the slogan constantly repeated and which nevertheless remains somewhat misleading : “We must evolve !” Being always on the move in a world that is constantly agitated, is that healthy ? We cannot, at the same time, be rooted in the stable and the solid, and be moved around in portable pots at will. Moreover, in this whirlwind of passing time, how can we fit into the future and build the future ? Some make projections over 10, 20, 50 years when we don't know what tomorrow will bring. The future remains an equation with multiple unknowns that even our hyper-sophisticated instruments cannot really consider because everything is definitely unpredictable. Therefore, as a believer who must live his life as a Christian witness hoping to accomplish God's plan for himself as much as for others, what can be done ? Which program to follow ? Since today the reflex is to rely on your GPS to reach a destination that is still unknown, have the “Bible” reflex to know God’s intention for you. She is the divine GPS which, by such or such biblical verse falling on the occasion, will lead you on the path where you must walk, even if all the others are still running, and often in all directions.
