The divine grace !

Search the Scriptures

May the Eternal bless you, and keep you ! May the Eternal make his face shine upon you, and be gracious to you ! Numbers 6.24-25

One day, I had an experience in the TGV (high-speed train) that helped me touch the reality of God's grace. I had a reservation for a late afternoon train, but arrived at the station earlier than expected. So I boarded a train in the early afternoon, without having the corresponding reservation. As it was crowded, I sat on a jump seat in the hallway of a second-class carriage.

After departure, the controller came to check my ticket : I explained my story to him and, to my dismay, he invited me to follow him. I believe that by following him, I inwardly pronounced what I believed to be my last prayer here on earth ! To my amazement, he drove me in a first-class carriage and wished me a : "Bon voyage !"

I found myself sitting with people in good standing for having paid the price of a first class ticket, when I only had a second class ticket, without the corresponding reservation !

So to speak, grace is being asked to travel first class, when you don't deserve it. I still have a more theological definition of grace, based on 2 Corinthians 8.9 : Grace is God who gave the best (his Son Jesus) to redeem the worst on earth (us sinners ) and with that make it the Church ! "For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ : for you he made himself poor when he was rich, so that by his poverty you might be enriched." (2 Corinthians 8.9)

Listen the voice of God

Let's take the time to listen to what God wants to tell us about the grace that we find so hard to understand.

Praying is simple. Here is an example of a prayer : "Lord, after all these years (or all these months) of walking with you, I still find it so difficult to understand your wonderful grace when it fills me beyond my needs and desires. I want to know you more and more and better and better !”

Praise God

To praise God is to express our gratitude to him. As a son and daughter of God, you benefit from his unmerited grace. So make time in your day to thank the Lord. Praise Him with psalms, in your songs, in dancing, or in any other way that is unique to you.

Act today

If you often feel like God has forgotten you or if He doesn't always answer your prayers as you expect, decide now to change your perspective. Praise him for his presence in your life until today and tell him how privileged you are to know him intimately. It’s obvious, you will find that your horizon lights up !

Honor the Lord

Our journey for the day ends. Let us pray together to honor our God.

"Thank you Lord for your wonderful grace ! To you be the kingdom, the power and the glory, amen !"
