The end of the tunnel !
Psalms 22:1 – My God, my God, why have you forsaken me ? Why do you stay so far away, without helping me, without listening to my complaint ?
David, as a singer, was inspired by the words of God. In this verse he quotes the very words of Jesus on the cross, the final moment when the Son and the Father were separated because Jesus carried on Himself all the weight of the sins of the world. David has had many trials in his life, some of them "fall on him", others were the consequence of his choices.
The test, whatever it is, has only one goal, to make us grow. The impression he had that God did not come to rescue him was illusory, because God always works for the salvation of those who love Him. No trial (temptation being the same word) is superhuman, God prepares in advance the way out (1 Corinthians 10:13).
But when we are in the middle of the test, it is very difficult for us to see the end of the tunnel. Only faith in this promise can help us to take one more step towards the exit, to continue again and again until a complete victory. It is in this time of trial that you really see what you have in your belly... she sorts out what is the grace of God in you and what is still things that must change. Nobody likes to be tested, yet the test has this positive thing, it is that it gives us back to the measure of who we are : human beings completely dependent on the grace of God.
Going back to our David, the man after God's own heart, he was a fighter who had won great victories and he was a bit of a star in Israel. This feeling of abandonment, purely fictitious moreover, because God is watching over his loved ones, will bring him back to the true reality : “Without me, you can do nothing” (John 15.1)! Courage my friend, you are one step closer to exiting the tunnel...
Be fully blessed.
Good reflection.
