The fidelity in the storm

Some of those who read this message have their lives in the midst of a storm.

The disciples endured powerful waves in a boat agitated by the storm as their Master was deeply asleep. Eventually, when the storm threatened to overwhelm the boat, they shouted to Jesus, accusing him of not caring about their fate. "Master, do not you worry about what we perish ?" (Mark 4:38). Jesus calmed the tempest, but He could not resist the lack of faith of his disciples. He asked : "Then he said to them : Why are you so afraid ? "How do you have no faith?"(4:40).

At this very moment, you may be facing a terrible storm in your life: money problems, problems in your marriage, in your work, enemies coming to you like powerful waves. A sea of trouble rages in you, but the Lord seems asleep as you go through all this. Tell me, has your faith been undermined ? Does it collapse slowly with each new disappointment ? Perhaps you cry in your heart : "Lord, do not you care? Will you let me flow in this storm?"

It is precisely for such a moment that Jesus spoke this incredible word : "And will not God do justice to his elect, who cry out to him and night, and will he delay with them ? I tell you, he will do them justice promptly. But when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth ?" (Luke 18: 7-8).

Note well the question of Jesus here : will He find faith among those of His people when they go through days of darkness and oppression? In recent years, I have wondered if Jesus would ask such a question today. For decades, multitudes have come en masse in the churches. But what Jesus actually asks is, "Will their faith stand when the storm comes ?" Our problems can build up to such a height and nations can be shaken so fast that some will lose hope and give up. I ask you : Will Jesus find you faithful in your hour of storm ?
