The fidelity of God in our trials

"No temptation has come to you that has not been human ; and God who is faithful, will not allow you to be tempted beyond your strength..." 1 Corinthians 10.13

We all certainly know this beautiful poetry of the Brazilian poet Ademar De Barros, where he says that he was dreaming of all the scenes of his life, walking on the beach with the Lord. He explains : "I looked back and saw that at every period of my life, there were two pairs of tracks on the sand : One was mine, the other was the Lord's.... I noticed that in some places, there was only one pair of fingerprints, and that exactly matched with the most difficult days of my life, the days of greater agony, greater fear, and also greater pain. So I asked the Lord : "You told me you were with me every day of my life... But I noticed that in the worst moments of my life, there was only one trace to not. I can not understand that you left me alone when I needed you most." And the Lord answered : "My son, you are so precious to me ! I love you ! I would never have abandoned you, not even a single minute ! The days when you saw only one footprint on the sand, those days of hardship and suffering, well, it was me who bore you."

After exposing to the Corinthians, all the blessings that God bestowed on Israel in the wilderness (1 Corinthians 10.5 / 10). While they were benefitting from the faithfulness of God, fed manna and quails, watered with abundant water flowing from the rock, the people of God did not pay attention to the faithfulness of God and became unfaithful.

As you go through a difficult time, while loneliness surrounds you, while the test is on your life, remember that in these moments, the faithful God is with you, and even wants to carry you. Chase the diabolical thought of believing that God has forsaken you, God who is faithful, accompanies you in this path of trial. He will not allow you to be tempted beyond your strength, he will keep control of the situation, he will make these trials compete with your discipleship, so that you reflect the traits of Christ.

A prayer for today

Thank you Lord for your fidelity, my trials you cross by my side, and you make me grow in my life of disciple. Amen.
