The Forgiveness and Love of a Father

"Jesus answered him : Because I told you that I saw you under the fig tree, you believe : you will see greater things than these." Jean 1.50

This was happening in Spain. Pedro had a teenage son with whom the relationship was difficult. Every day, it was only cries and insults. Paco, the son, reproached his father for not understanding him and Pedro reproached his son for being rebellious.

Do you know that the Heavenly Father is addressing you ?

The latter, at last, escaped from the house. The father panicked everywhere for his son. He ran to all his friends. In the evening he went to the bars where his boy might have been. He even went to the house where Paco met with his friends to make music. But Paco was not there.

Finally, at the end of an idea, and not knowing what to do, he published an advertisement in the popular newspaper of Madrid. The announcement said, "Paco, I forgive you with all my heart, come home, I love you, and I miss you terribly." Tomorrow at noon, meet me at the newspaper's office on the main square. Love you and can not live without you".

The next day, at noon, the father rushed to the newspaper's office. He was very surprised to see a crowd of "Paco" waiting. Everyone had thought that it was to him that the father's message was addressed. And each one came to seek the love and forgiveness of his father.

And you ? Do you know that the Heavenly Father is addressing you ? "Come back and I will forgive you," he said through the prophets in his Word, the Bible. And the greatest proof he gives us of his love and forgiveness is that he gave his only son "that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Hear that cry that he addresses to you without his Word ... Look at his hand outstretched towards you, night and day. What are you going to answer ? Grab this hand, hear this call and go back to the Father's house. He has prepared you a banquet and festive clothes, as when the prodigal son has returned. (Luke 15: 11-32). Come back ! He calls you.

Action for Today

Even today, as every day, he calls us to come to him to receive his guidance, his advice, his love. Let us spend time listening to him, and we shall be strengthened and renewed by his grace. Discover also the Father's love letter.
