The fruits of an awakening at the Christian

When waking up, the Christians leave the world and lead a life set apart for Christ. Christians who previously frolicked with the world, accepting many dubious compromises, abandon such foolishness. When one receives a life and a light increased, one discovers that they are incompatible with these vanities.

The Christians have a new spirit of prayer. Prayer meetings are no longer a duty but a necessity for hungry and demanding hearts. There is a new taste for the practice of private prayer. Day and night the voice of fervent prayer to God is heard. We no longer ask : "Does God answer prayer ?". We know that He does it and we besiege the throne of grace, day and night.

The Christians go to work for lost souls. They do not go to meetings to entertain themselves or to "be blessed". They go there to watch for souls and bring them to Christ. They talk to people in the street, in shops, and even in their homes. The cross of Christ, salvation, heaven and hell become constant subjects of conversation. Politics, the latest news, weather, and dress are quickly forgotten.

During an awakening, the Christians find in Christ a new joy. The life is the joy, and a renewal of life is a renewal of joy. Waking times are happy times, days when the sky is on the earth.

In times of awakening, the Christians have a new love for the Word of God. They want to study it day and night. Revivals are disastrous for bars and cabarets, but they are good for evangelical bookstores and biblical societies.
