The Gospel is fascinating

The Gospel of Christ : it is the power of God for the salvation of every man who believes, of the Jew first, but also of the non-Jew. Romans 1.16

One Sunday at church, a woman falls asleep in the middle of a sermon. The preacher addresses his neighbor : "Please wake up this lady." The man replies : "Sorry, Pastor, it was you who put her to sleep, you have to wake her !"

"The Gospel changes people profoundly."

Seriously, Paul affirms it : "The Gospel of Christ: it is the power of God for the salvation of every man who believes in the Jew first, but also in the non-Jew" (Romans 1:16) In Greek, "power" is called "dynamis", which gave "dynamite". You talk about an impact ! The gospel changes people profoundly.

Chuck Swindoll says : "The Gospel is a sharp sword on the Stone of Scripture, and drenched in the furnace of reality. Of all the reactions it can cause, I think there is nothing worse than a yawn tinged with boredom, contempt and indifference. Jesus went out to the people. His words were sharp, his sermons concrete. He attacked hypocrisy and prejudice. He encountered people. people where they were, not where they should have been, young rebels, blind beggars, proud politicians, daughters of joy, ignorant fishermen, possessed and grieving parents, he identified with all of them.

His enemies didn't understand him, but they couldn't ignore him. They hated him, but they never got bored around him. Do you want to disappoint the Lord ? Easy : Use the Gospel to Annoy People !

The Gospel is not a vague religious concept ; it is an exciting relationship with God who works every day in our lives."
