The Grace We Need

“Let us therefore approach boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain compassion and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4.16

This verse tells us that we can approach the throne of divine grace with boldness. We can express ourselves freely before God, without fear of wasting our time exposing everything to Him in our prayers. We have been granted permission to enter the throne room of God, through the name of Jesus. Aren't you glad that this throne is not one of judgment ? Who among us could enter it with our heads held high ? No, it is a throne of grace, of undeserved favor. A throne for Him who is the supreme ruler of the universe. But He is also our Father and it is from this throne that He grants to us, His children, what we could never acquire on our own. Because He gives us what we don't deserve, what we could never buy. The treasures of blessings in His throne room never run out. All we have to do is approach Him in prayer. God has unfathomable resources, He has all the grace we will ever need, but to get it, we must approach Him and ask Him for it ! So we can affirm that a Christian who does not pray is a Christian who cannot benefit from divine grace, a Christian who cannot develop spiritually because he does not approach the throne where blessings are dispensed. The grace we receive before the throne of God is meant to come to our aid whenever we need it. The gift of divine grace is coordinated with our need at any given time. God will give us, only tomorrow, the grace we will need tomorrow ! It is useless to ask Him to grant it to us today. But do not worry : the reserves of His grace are not about to dry up ! So do not hesitate to approach His throne as many times as necessary. “May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit !” (Philemon 1. 25).
