The greatest of all changes

"If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature : the old things have passed away : behold, all things have become new." 2 Corinthians 5:17

For many years, I was an unhappy and negative person. Even after my conversion, it took a long time for the peace and joy of God to become a reality in my life. In fact, I did not take full advantage of all that God had given me through his salvation, so I did not enjoy his blessings.

Let us therefore stop to run after what we already possess, and learn rather to believe it and to receive it.

My eyes finally opened and I realized that I could not continue like that. My mentality, my way of speaking and my attitude had to change. And I needed the power of God for that.

Little by little, through the study of speech, meditation and the proclamation of his truths about my life, God worked a miracle and changed me. I began to understand better what it means to be born again and to really become aware of my identity in Christ.

It is said in 2 Corinthians 5:17 : "If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature : the old things are passed away: behold, all things have become new."

I believe that the greatest of all miracles happens when God changes the heart and character of a person to transform her into the image of Christ - to make her a "new creature."

The text of 2 Corinthians 5:17 says that what is old has disappeared and all things have become new. Note the past time of the verb : "have become". This means that God has already given us in Christ all that we need so that we are in all ways conformable to His purpose. Let us therefore stop to run after what we already possess, and learn rather to believe it and to receive it.

You see, when you have accepted Christ as your Savior, the seed of God - all that he is and all that he has - has come to dwell in your spirit. 1 John 3: 9. If you are truly born again, the nature of God has been sown in you. It must now grow so that you are rooted in the love of God and in your relationship with him.

To receive the blessings of God, we must simply decide to give priority to His Word over our thoughts and feelings. The Bible is our handbook where we learn to grow in the new nature that God has given us and to become fully the one he wants us to be. Therefore, take time each day to read and meditate texts that tell you about God's love for you, your identity and all your possessions in Christ.

A thought for today

As Paul says in Ephesians, God loves you and his will is that you be his child and enjoy all the blessings that he holds in store for you - justice, peace, joy, answer to your needs ... In Christ, you have a personal relationship with God the Father. In Christ, you can know His will and be led by the Holy Spirit, who abides in you. In Christ, you have access to the grace and strength of God to face all your obligations. In Christ you are blessed and you can lead a victorious life !
