The heritage of the power

Search the Scriptures

I pray that he will illuminate the eyes of your heart so that you will know what is the hope that attaches to his call, what is the richness of his glorious heritage in the midst of the saints and what is the infinite greatness of his power. which manifests itself effectively in the power of its strength towards us who believe. Ephesians 1.18-19

In the first chapter of Ephesians, Paul prays for the members of the Church in Ephesus to have an enlightened understanding. Do you know that you can be saved and still have a clouded view of things ? Indeed, you can have a relationship with Jesus but lack spiritual knowledge. Paul says that when the Lord opens the eyes of believers to His light, it enables them to understand the hope that attaches to their calling.

God invites you to have a relationship with him. This invitation is accompanied by a particular expectation... Which one ? The rest of the text sheds light on this subject : "what is the richness of his glorious heritage in the midst of the saints." God's desire is for you to receive and use your inheritance.

What does it consist on ? Paul reveals it in verse 20. This inheritance is in accordance with the action of his power which he displayed in Christ when he raised him up. The heritage of the saints is the Holy Spirit, who strengthened Jesus in the depths of hell and gave him authority over all demonic power. If you have a relationship with Jesus, you can walk in the same authority and power !

Since the Holy Spirit gave strength and power to Jesus in the heart of hell, no matter what situation you find yourself in, the Holy Spirit has given you as an inheritance the power to be more than victorious.

Listen the voice of God

Let's take the time to listen to what God wants to say. Let God show you the power of the inheritance He has given you.

Praying is simple. Speak to God as you would your closest friend. God loves you and he can hear everything. Here is an example of a prayer : "Lord, illuminate the eyes of my heart so that I understand the power of the inheritance that you bequeath to me today."

Praise God

To praise God is to express our gratitude to him. Today, what are your subjects of recognition ? Take a time to thank the Lord.

Act today

Put that power to work today ! Ask God to put someone around you on your heart and encourage them.

Honor the Lord

Our journey for the day ends. Let us pray together to honor our God.

"Thank you for the spiritual knowledge you give me, Lord. To you be the reign, the power and the glory, amen !"
