The highest things

"Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually." 1 Chronicles 16. 11

It is one thing to search for "the LORD and his strength", it is a higher thing to seek "continually his face" (verse of the day).

It's one thing to say : "Wait for God ; for I will celebrate it again ; his face is salvation" (Ps 42. 5) ; it is a higher thing to say : "Wait for God ; I will celebrate it again ; he is the salvation of my face and my God" (v.11).

It's one thing to say : "My soul is thirsty for God, for the living God. When will I come and appear before God ? "(Ps 42. 2) ; it is a higher thing to say : "I will come to the altar of God, to the God of the gladness of my joy ; and I will praise you on the harp, O God, my God !" (Ps 43.4).

It's a thing to see and believe ; it is a higher thing to believe without seeing : "Because you saw me, you believed; Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed" (John 20. 29).

The believer takes a great step when he appropriates with faith and wholeheartedly what God declares. God says to me : "I am your God. I will strengthen you ; yes, I will help you ; yes, I will sustain you by the right hand of my righteousness" (Isa.41, 10). I answer : "You are my God, and I will praise you, my God, I will exalt you" (Psalm 118: 28).

• When God speaks, it's up to me to be silent.

• When God gives a promise, to me to wait for his fulfillment.

• When God reveals his will, it's up to me to accept it.

• When God shows the way, it's up to me to take the first step.

• When God sends, to me to leave.
