The hourglass

The hourglass

We may have played with an hourglass before, fascinated by the sand that flows so smoothly. Our life flows the same way. We cannot stop the passing of time.

It is God who gave us life. The hourglass sand dose can represent its duration on the earth. A determined time. How many days do we have left to live for each of us ? When the sand is completely drained, the hourglass will not be turned over. The hereafter does not allow you to rebuild your life. There is no second chance. All humans die because all have sinned before God. Everyone will have to meet him, as judge or as Savior.

Tomorrow is not ours. The Bible tells us : "Prepare to meet your God" (Amos 4:12). Let’s not let the time pass, let’s be ready. God tells us : "Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your heart" (Hebrews 4. 7). God loves you. Jesus came to give himself and pay for our faults. The love of God and of his Son Jesus Christ calls you today to give him an answer. Only you can give it : "I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Choose life so that you may live" (Deuteronomy 30:19).

This choice is urgent. The consequences of a refusal or an indifferent attitude would be terrible. "We implore in the name of Christ : Be reconciled to God !" (2 Corinthians 5:20).
