The impact of the cross

He who himself bore our sins in his body on the cross so that, freed from sin, we might live for righteousness. You were healed by his wounds. You were indeed like lost sheep, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and the protector of your soul. 1 Peter 2:24-25

Concerned about the stresses of our daily lives, it can be difficult for us to understand the true meaning of Jesus' death for us. But when he died on the cross, he was crucified in our place, bearing on his body all the sins that would be committed by man throughout history : our anger, our resentments, our bitterness and our doubts, our harsh words and bad thoughts, the things we would have loved to do, and all the mistakes we would have made.

But he also died so that we would "die to sin." Thanks to him, we have become new creatures. We can count on the Holy Spirit for the vigor, wisdom, and power we need, and to "live for righteousness." It means doing the right things and making the right decisions.

"Burn these truths into your heart and into your mind today."

Her death gives us power, she conquers death and disease. This is a fait accompli and historic. But even if it has happened before, we have to stand up for it and believe it in our life. We used to roam like sheep, but now we have come back to our Shepherd. And he takes care of us and guides us.

Burn these truths into your heart and into your mind today. Meditate on what the Bible says about Jesus' death and what that death means to you. Do not struggle and accept the work he has done for you. Do not give in to sin, because it has already been overcome. Live in the victory that Jesus has already won for you !

A prayer for today

Lord, thank you for agreeing to die on the cross for me. Thank you because my sins are forgiven. Please guide me. Thank you for giving me new life! In the name of Jesus. Amen.
