THE INCREDIBLE OFFER OF MERCY OF GOD

There has been much talk lately in the terrible condition of our world. The nations are troubled, on the brink of economic disaster. But in the midst of all this fear and tumult, God continues to love and save souls.
His wonderful work of salvation never changes - it is not affected by the economy. His convincing Holy Spirit is not embarrassed by the state of Wall Street nor by wavering global finances. The saving power of God has never been limited by small accounts in banks.
The fact is that our Lord never amends His promises. They are always "yes and amen," at all times and in all circumstances (see 2 Corinthians 1:20). God has not promised to provide for all our needs except when we are unemployed. And He has not promised to be Jehovah Jireh, the Lord who provides, except when the economic situation becomes frightening.
The promises of our Lord never change! And this includes His promises concerning the salvation of the lost. When God orders us to go all over the world to win the lost, He has not added an exception clause. He did not say, "Preach the gospel of my Son Jesus Christ to all nations except in difficult times." And He never said, "Believe in the salvation of a multitude - except when the World is shaken. "
Thank God, He never said that the world is too bad, too hardened, too deep in lust to be reached by His Good News. God has never, at any time in history, limited His tender mercies - and He will never do so. Even now, America and the rest of the world could still avoid judgment - if there was true repentance. Obviously, such repentance would require great humility and a return to the Lord. But our God never canceled His incredible offer of mercy.
