Today I am jubilant ! After more than 4 years of legal proceedings, the olive producer, prosecuted for having opened his heart and his house to migrants who passed, at the end of their strength, by his property, at the Franco-Italian border, has just been released. definitely. Thanks to his determination to help a migrant in an irregular situation and in a selfless way, he made this action an acquired right !

Well you know what ? This "guy" this is the son of his mother ! Or, as the saying goes : "Dogs don't make cats !" I got to know her mother at the end of our pastorate in Nice. From time to time she wrote rather "spicy" articles in the church newsletter that manifested her righteous heart. She used to say to her somewhat rebellious and idealistic son : "Before you want to change the world, change your world." He was inspired by it for the title of his book.

Dear Moms, you may be having a hard time with your offspring right now, but don't give up. Your way of living, of speaking, your generosity, your honesty, your benevolence, your sense of hospitality, your ability to forgive, the struggles that are close to your heart, your love for God and his Word, will leave an indelible impact on your children. If you sow good seeds, you will most likely reap good fruit in the short to medium term. Think of Jokebed, mother of Moses, Anne, mother of Samuel, Elisabeth, mother of John the Baptist or Eunice, mother of Timothy : they were all women of faith and piety, and certainly great influencers.

Your son or daughter's name may never make the headlines, but the important thing is that one day you can say : "He or she did what the Lord considers to be. fair and he/she followed in everything the example of his mother."

An action for today in favor of mothers

"Give the honor... to whom you owe the honor !" (Romans 13: 7) On this special day, let us show sincere appreciation to mothers - in the broadest sense of the word. Of course, they were not and still are not perfect, but if we are what we are today, it is still a lot because of them !
