Blessed is he to whom transgression is forgiven, to whom sin is forgiven ! Psalm 32. 1

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, benevolence, faith, meekness, self-control. Galatians 5. 22

The joy of the Christian

Oh ! the peace that Jesus gives,

I did not know her,

Everything in my path shines,

Since he leads my steps !

The Christian sings his happiness. Here's why :

- He knows that Jesus bore his sins on the cross and suffered the judgment of God. What inner peace comes from it ! “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1). He knows he is forgiven, the weight of his faults no longer weighs on him.

- Because he believed in Jesus, the Christian receives a new divine nature. “Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God” (1 John 5.1). This nature, animated by the Holy Spirit, gives him the strength to know true freedom. He is no longer a slave to sin, but by faith he can overcome it. His body is "the temple of God", the Holy Spirit "dwells in him" (1 Corinthians 3:16). He has the privilege of being able to conduct himself in a manner worthy of God.

- The Christian has eternal life. "You have eternal life, you who believe in the name of the Son of God" (1 John 5:13).

- The believer has a future and a hope : he knows where he will be in eternity. Jesus said : "I am preparing a place for you, and I will come back and take you to myself" (John 14:3).
