The kiss of the Savior

When I speak in an evangelistic campaign, I often seek my words to express this supernatural sensation, the moment when Jesus entered my heart and changed my life. But I have not yet managed to do him justice. The best way I have found to express it is through a simple analogy.

I told people that I felt like I was sitting on an operating table, refrigerated, angry and confused, and Jesus was the surgeon who stood over me. My heart was broken. He gently bent and closed my eyes, and then He opened my chest, plunged deep into me and pulled my heart out of my chest. He held it in His hands, a heart filled with hate, anger and bitterness that consumed me - the deep wounds of my past and the curse that were destroying my life and my soul.

Jesus took my heart gently, carried it to His lips and kissed it. He caressed her and healed her wounds. Then He put it back in my chest and closed me again. I knew in a moment that I had become better, that my heart was no longer broken. At that time, I knew I was a new creation. I had a new heart - a heart filled with love, compassion and repentance. All the feelings of hatred and bitterness had gone. My sins were forgiven and, at last, I was free !

I have to swallow my tears every time I use this analogy. The moment when Jesus came into my heart and saved me is the experience that I cherish above all in my life. Before that moment, no one had ever kissed my heart. This was what I needed most from my new Father.

Thank you, precious Jesus !
