The love believes everything

I was talking yesterday with someone who decided to repent and change. This change to the good costs him a great price, and thus manifests his repentance. A brother told him that if he did not succeed in changing, he could not foresee a future in his business. I thought to myself that love does not suspect evil, but on the contrary that it believes everything. It is true, however, that Jesus warned the paralytic man to no longer sin, "lest something worse happen to you" (John 5:14).

To prevent is not contrary to love or faith. Jesus was in faith and love concerning this man, but Jesus could not commit to him. Jesus could not control the life, the choices and the actions of this man, and that is why, for love's sake, he warned him that if he sinned, something worse would happen to him.

We can believe the best of people, and we should, but that should not stop us from preventing them. This is what we do with our children, we can believe the best of them, but we also warn them of what would happen if they did wrong. This is not against love. We must not, however, suspect that they will do harm. Love is a whole !

With unbelievers, I often find myself in this situation : they tell me that they are saved, they tell me that they do good, they tell me that they think that arrived in heaven, God will accept them because of their works. I must tell them the truth. I must warn them. I do not have to believe what they tell me, if what they say is wrong and it makes them wrong!

I have to tell them the truth. And if I tell them the truth, it's because I think they can accept it. I think they can change. I believe they can receive salvation and be saved from hell and eternal judgment. I believe the best, I believe that their heart can open to God through repentance.
