The love does not irritate

"Because of the progress of evil, the love of the many will grow cold" (Matthew 24:12).

The progression of evil on earth has made people harden their hearts and become more and more selfish and independent. It is not uncommon to hear here and there of "no assistance to anyone in danger". I have heard various news stories about the story of a man who was beaten without anyone doing anything. Evil progresses and it is communicated in the media, movies, music, social networks...

This publicity of evil cooled the hearts of people, who became more and more suspicious. Also, hate calls hatred, it gives birth to hatred and anger. The increasing evil in the world has caused the hearts of bitterness, anger, and irritation to develop. Most people do not have much to do with their neighbors being unhappy and unemployed or lacking food. Most people feel no sense at the sight of a man who begs. Why ? Because the love of the greatest number has cooled down.

Formerly, when a stranger arrived in a city, it was welcomed with joy and it was even proposed to lodge it. But the evil has increased, whatever one may say. Evil already existed but today it is everywhere and with much more strength. However, this harm should not make us angry and irritate. It should not make us insensitive to people's needs. On the contrary, we should go to the opposite of the world, and our love should not stop growing for the lost. I do not know if you have in your heart a form of irritation against "the people of the world", but I encourage you to abandon it if it is the case. Do not be angry with the wicked. "Keep silence before the Lord, and hope in him, do not be angry with him who succeeds in his enterprises, against the man who makes his evil projects ! Leave anger, abandon fury, do not irritate yourself : it would be wrong" (Psalms 37: 7-8).
