The love does not proud (continued)

We must be simple as children, devoid of personal interests and pride. There is no need to share and tell stories of what God is doing through us, when done in all humility, fully aware that it is the fruit of the work of God alone. If we give glory to God, he will boast again, and he will glorify us with him. Yes, he will make us share his glory by laying on our lives his glorious presence. What a unique and fabulous sharing !

"Piety, however, is a great source of profit when we are satisfied with what we have. Indeed, we have brought nothing into the world and [it is obvious that] we can not take anything away. If we have food and clothes, that will be enough. When those who want to get rich, they fall into temptation, into a trap and into a crowd of stupid and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and cause their loss. The love of money is indeed the root of all evils. By indulging in it, some have gone astray away from the faith and inflicted themselves much torment. When you, man of God, flee these things and seek justice, piety, faith, love, perseverance, gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith seized eternal life. She was the one you called and it was for her that you made a beautiful profession of faith in the presence of a large number of witnesses." (1 Timothy 6: 6-12)

The problem of pride is the same as the love of money : it is a dissatisfaction of what we live. A proud person is not satisfied with the satisfaction of God. A Christian should be happy to have obeyed God and to have given joy to the heart of God, without having to receive the glory and approval of men. But if "food and clothing" are not enough for him, he will seek to eat with men and to clothe himself in a garment of human praise. And this problem will create in his life fall opportunities that may bring him far from true faith.

On the contrary, we must seek the approval of God. Let us seek to be pleasing to God, and then we can encourage one another to follow the pattern.
