The love forgives everything

It is an ineffable joy to have been forgiven by the Father. He gave us life, movement, and being, and we spit on him, in a way. By accusing him, sinning against him, sometimes even by abandoning or betraying him. And he loved us, he forgave us, he huddled us as we struggled. We cried in his arms, immersed in his love. His love has forgiven us. His love has also changed us.

A person who was born a woman and who underwent operations to become a man, got married, and lived for more than ten years a marriage "blessed" and filled with joy. Until the day when God showed him that she had accepted a lie and that his condition was not the one he had for her. This person made the choice to divorce and return to the body God had for her.

Hearing this, a brother asked himself the question : "But forgiveness ?". This brother thought that being forgiven exempted us from real repentance, and it came to confront what he had believed so far.

Love forgives everything, and God has completely forgiven us. There is no more conviction on us. However, a forgiven person is someone who must restore, repay, return, change, act for the good. This is true repentance. It's the gospel.

When Jesus forgave the adulterous woman, he said to her : "I do not condemn you either : go, and sin no more" (John 8:11). Being forgiven is a wonderful condition that allows us to "go," but God does not just ask us to be forgiven by going, he asks us to benefit by not sinning anymore. If we stole, we can pay back what we stole. If we have lied, we can confess the truth. In fact, we sanctify our lives.
