How can we proclaim the gospel to people we would like to resemble ? We will lose our power ! And as long as these things are in us, then our testimony in this world will be weak. The Bible says that Lot tormented his soul because of the horrible things happening in his city. To pray for the world, we must be different from the world and see it through the eyes of God. We can not call good and holy what God calls evil and unclean.

If the world is of value to us, then our testimony will be ineffective. We must not covet the houses, the cars, the positions of the Gentiles in this world, for it is the god of this century who gave them all these things. So if our heart is attached to these things by lust, we are aspiring to gifts from the world of darkness, and it is in this trap that have fallen many Christian singers and artists. They coveted, sat idly by, lacking vigilance, and poverty surprised them like a thief (Proverbs 6:11)! They turned their eyes to wealth and success, and today have no impact in the kingdom of God. They are useless, as useless as if they were lost.

The Apostle Paul made the choice to consider all things in this world as mud, in order to win Christ (Philippians 3: 8). He had renounced the world, just like his model, Christ the servant. The face of this world passes, and covetousness too, but he who does the will of God abides forever (1 John 2:17). "By faith Moses became great and refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, who preferred to be mistreated with the people of God than to have for a time the enjoyment of sin, looking at the reproach. of Christ as a greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt..." (Hebrews 11:24). This way of life made Moses powerful, strong, invincible in God. His faith was pure.
