The love of God is immeasurable and limitless
Searching the Scriptures
But as high is the sky above the earth, so great is his goodness to those who fear him ; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. Psalm 103.11-12
David the psalmist is here trying to paint a picture of the immensity of God's love and grace, and he compares them to the height of the heavens.
We are probably better able to understand the comparison today than when David wrote these words. Indeed, since then, astronomers have told us that there are countless galaxies, all larger than the one of which our sun is a part. They ruled on claims and numbers to measure the size of the heavens, which no human imagination is really able to grasp.
David therefore rightly says that as immeasurable is this dimension of heaven, so immeasurable is the love and grace of God towards those who fear him.
Then he talks about how God has dealt with our transgressions : "As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us." Isn't that a blessing ?
The distance that God has put between our sins and us will never allow us to find them.
Listen to the voice of God
Let’s take the time to listen to what God means. Let God show you how much love he has for you.
Praying is easy. Talk to God as you would your closest friend. God loves you and he can hear everything. Here is an example of a prayer : "Lord, I would like to better understand the extent of the love you have for me. Open the eyes of my heart so that I can grasp the extent of it."
Praise God
To praise God is to show him our gratitude. What are your subjects of recognition today ? Take a moment to thank the Lord for this.
Act today
Now dig deeper into what you have received. What can you do to apply what God has told you ? Write down the concrete actions you can take.
Honor the Lord
Our route for the day comes to an end. Let us pray together to honor our God.
"Thank you for your love that is beyond me Lord. You blot out my sins so that you can no longer remember them. What a grace! To you be the kingdom, the power and the glory forever. So be it !"
