The love that attracts others to Jesus

"At that time, the number of disciples increasing ..." (Acts 6: 1).

Just let me set the tone, the background of this passage of Scripture. It was in the early days of the Church, just a few weeks or months, at most, after Pentecost and the Church grew exponentially. Three thousand people had been saved in one day ! They began to meet in houses and not only Jews, but also pagans, were saved. Samaritans and Ethiopians also became believers, so many cultures came together. Cultures that were not used to being together.

Indeed, these new converts were accustomed to racial segregation and they did not love each other. They persecuted each other, defamed one another, and all of a sudden they were propelled together in the same Body of Christ - saved, sanctified, filled with the Holy Spirit of God - working together. And everything went pretty well.

It was so weird ! At Pentecost, people heard other people speak their own language, but now they saw people who did not belong to their race, not to their nationality, who did not have the same history, the same Nor the same preferences, worshiping together, serving together, loving one another. From this kind of love, Jesus says : "It is the kind of love that will let the world know that you are My disciples. And it is the kind of love that will lead people to believe in Me."

When we do what we are called to do - to reach the souls that are lost - and we will do it with this kind of love, using each other with that kind of mentality that responds to the needs of others, then World will be attracted to Him.

"By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another" (John 13:35).
