The merciful arms of Christ

"For he said : In the favorable time I heard you, in the day of salvation I have helped you. Now is the favorable time, and now is the day of salvation" (2 Corinthians 6: 2).

This message is meant for those who have fallen, who have moved away from the Lord. According to the apostle Paul, who wrote the verse above : "Today is the day of mercy and grace." In other words, if you plan to believe one day, it is now.

Paul's statement is both an invitation and a caveat. The warning is this: "Do not receive the grace of God in vain. Do not ignore, neglect, or set aside the offer of mercy that God makes to you. Answer it today, as it is offered to you. "

Jesus warned us that many Christians will turn away and cool : "Because evil will grow, the love of the majority will be cooled" (Matthew 24:12 Sermon). His message is clear. Many people having been boiling for the things of God will demote. They will slip into a spiritual coldness and some will return to their old carnal ways.

All the reverse that we see today - all this abandonment of faith in favor of unbelief - occurs at a time when one would least expect it. Rather, people would be expected to be drawn closer to God. We are at the beginning of those days of "pain" Jesus is talking about (see Matthew 24: 8). Even the important voices of this world agree that these days are marked by indescribable malice, uncontrollable greed, creeping sexual perversions. Multitudes abandon themselves to addictions of all kinds, from alcohol and drugs to pornography.

I ask you: is this the moment to neglect the day of salvation ? Absolutely not ! If you ever really loved and followed Jesus but you are now cold and indifferent, the Holy Spirit speaks to you. He invites you to return to the merciful arms of Christ. With compassion, I urge you to pay attention to what the Holy Spirit is saying.
