"And I do this because of the gospel in order to share in its blessings" (1 Corinthians 9:23).
There will be rewards for those who prayed for the lost. This is a subject that no longer interests many people, most people no longer believing in prayer. The world has become so mean and hard on the gospel that it has discouraged many believers. The atmosphere is filled with disbelief and people are increasingly making fun of God and his Lord. The name of Jesus is scoffed and slandered, while the name of the false gods is protected and well guarded.
We must believe that God listens to prayer and is powerful in responding to it. We must pray with perseverance, and of course talk about Jesus after praying. I often made the mistake of praying again and again, without sowing. It's good to water, but it's even better to water after sowing! What a joy to know that God is listening to us in prayer! And he does it ! "We have this assurance with him : if we ask for something according to his will, he listens to us. And if we know he is listening to us, whatever our request, we know that we have what we have asked him for" (1 John 5: 14-15). The assurance in prayer is in the fact that we pray according to his will, his desires. "He who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth" (1 Timothy 2: 4). We know that it is God's will to save all men, so we can pray with perseverance and believe that God will save them because of our prayers. Paul adds this truth : "But how will they call on him in whom they have not believed ? And how will they believe in him whom they have not heard ? And how will they hear from him, if no one announces it ?" (Romans 10:14) We must pray, then we must go. We must go, then we must pray. It's the perfect mix for the miracle of God. We join him to the end.
