The power from on high

There comes a time, in the life of every believer, in which the Spirit must act externally in relation to us. We need He to do the work that is necessary - to speak, to touch, to deliver. This is exactly what happened when the disciples could not chase a demon out of a person who was suffering. Jesus said to them : "This kind can not come out in any way, except by prayer and fasting" (Mark 9:29 Darby version). In other words, this requires total dependence on God. We have to say : "I can not do it by my own strength. This requires the strength of God."

If your marriage is collapsing, it needs a living word from God, clothed in power, and not a simple theological word.

Churches are useless if they are not clothed with power. It does not matter how many former members sit on the board. A clear decision can be made by one or two people if they are clothed in power. All this calls us to spend time on our knees, waiting and trusting God to provide for needs in His omnipotence. And He likes to meet us! Jesus said to the disciples : "Behold, I will send on you what my Father has promised" (Luke 24:49). This promise is not obtained by anything we do, but by the grace of our Father who loves us.

I tell you, when His power comes, it does not resemble anything else. We have not only a sensation of the Spirit in us, but all those around us also feel it. A glorious presence descends and everyone knows that they are in a holy place.

The disciples had to pray and fast simply to chase a demon. We need it to face a totally bad culture. Change will come only through the power that comes from above. This requires a people who are not only filled with the Holy Spirit, dwelling in the Spirit and walking in the Spirit, but awaiting as faithfully as the Spirit lends them power.
