The prayer of the faith

"We have this assurance : if we ask for something according to his will, he listens to us, and if we know that he is listening to us, whatever our request, we know that we possess what we asked him ." 1 John 5: 14-15

Have you ever prayed with a person about a problem and at the end of prayer, when you proclaim by faith "amen", she answers : "I hope ..."

The will of God is that we have full confidence in Him.

Praying in the hope that we will be answered is not the same thing as praying with faith. Faith is activated as we know the Word of God and this passage from 1 John 5: 14-15 teaches us what God's will is in prayer.

The will of God is that we have full confidence in Him.

God wants us to ask in accordance with His will. And His will is in His Word.

When you pray in accordance with the will of God, you can have complete confidence that he hears and answers your prayers !

Action for Today

Faith stems from the knowledge of the will of God. If you are not sure of knowing God's will in a specific area, then take time to seek out what His Word says about it.

For example, 1 Peter 2:24 teaches us God's plan for healing ; James 1.5 teaches us God's point of view on wisdom, and Philippians 4: 6-8 describes how to experience the peace of God, the one that surpasses all understanding.
