The prevailing faith

In chapters 13 and 14 of the book of Numbers we find the definition of true faith and unbelief. The ten spies who went to the country came back with the report of what they had seen. "We went to the country where you sent us. It is truly a country where milk and honey flow, and here are the fruits. But the people who live in this land are powerful, the cities are fortified, very great" (Numbers 13:27-28). So the report was both positive and negative.

The people panicked and shouted in fear and disbelief. "We can not go up against this people because they are stronger than us" (see 13:31). But Caleb, the quiet voice of faith, had a completely different approach : "Let's go up, take the land, we'll be victors !" (13:30).

The whole assembly said : "Let's go back to Egypt, let's go back to slavery. We will not be able to seize the Promised Land. There are too many enemies and they are too powerful" (14: 1-4). Once again, faith was expressed through Joshua and Caleb : "The country we have traveled, to explore it, is a very good country, excellent... [The Lord] will lead us into this country, and we will give it : it is a land flowing with milk and honey" (14: 7-8).

God wants to know what is in your heart as a true believer. Is it the fear of the giants and the desire to return to Egypt ? He wants a people who use their faith to bring down all that keeps them from enjoying the fullness of Jesus.

The Enemy does not have the power to prevent the people of God from achieving what God has planned for them. Satan can use a great trial against you right now - not to keep you on the ground, but to keep you out. All hell is raging against you to prevent you from entering the fullness of Christ, into a place of rest, into a life of trust, and a walk of peace under His reign.

Let your faith prevail and proclaim : "I do not fear what men can do. My enemies have no power because God is with me. I go there, to seize me of what He has for me !"
