Jesus promised to pour out His power and His Spirit on the lives of His disciples, to act in the midst of them with signs, wonders and miracles, so that there is no doubt about His power, A lost and desperate world. He promised to send His Spirit to live among them and in them, to guide them as they bring the gospel to every corner of the globe. He assured them that His Spirit would never abandon them or leave them and He expects them to place faith and total trust in this "soft and light murmur" that guides them in their hearts.
The prophet Joel proclaimed this power which was to manifest itself among the disciples of Christ : "After this I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh ; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream, and your young men shall be visions. Even on the servants and on the handmaids, In those days I will pour out my spirit. I will bring forth wonders in heaven and on earth" (Joel 2: 28-30).
We have the opportunity to see the Lord's power freed from the world as never before. God is ready and willing to pour out His power, to perform miracles in the name of Christ as it has not been seen since the resurrection of Jesus. But if and when He will decide to do it through our lives depends on us. Are we willing to leave our comfort zones, re-evaluate the way we think and believe, reject the things of this world and entrust ourselves instead to the promises of God's provision ?
Are we prepared to set aside our own opinions and agenda to focus on the direction of the Holy Spirit ?
Will we make the choice to believe in a great and powerful God ?
