The quiet work of the Holy Spirit

Some Christians are still in crisis and seem to want to tell you everything about the problems they face. They feel the need to describe their problems to others, but they seem reluctant to wear them in front of Jesus, as if He had nothing to offer.

Do not misunderstand me. I am not talking about Christians who are going through genuine and legitimate crises because of hardships. But it is an important sign of maturity not to challenge God to prove its existence by visible evidence or a strong inner voice. The Lord says that his sheep recognize His voice, but the voice that God most often uses to speak to His people today is His revealed Word. We read : "After having spoken to our fathers several times in many ways by the prophets, God, in recent times, spoke to us through the Son, whom he established as heir to all things, by whom he also created the world" (Hebrews 1: 1-2).

When the Holy Spirit speaks to us, it is to remind us of Jesus' word s: "But the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things, and will remind you all that I told you" (John 14:26).

I once spoke to a group of people involved in the ministry and was led by the Holy Spirit to ask the pastor's women to pray for one another. As these women took each other's hands and prayed for each other, the sweet presence of the Lord fell on them and they began to cry and share with each other. There was neither lightning nor thunder, nor any other supernatural proof, but a beautiful and tranquil work of the Holy Ghost. Later, we heard from women whose lives had been changed during this precious time with the Lord.

Do not fall into the trap of looking for signs and wonders, simply obey the Lord, trust in His Word and let Him deal with the results !
