The real test of spiritual maturity

In fact, in Jesus Christ, what is important is neither circumcision nor uncircumcision, but only faith which acts through love. Galatians 5.6

We must have a sincere, pure, and fervent love for others above all else. If we were to achieve only one thing in our life, it should be loving others.

Many people believe that great faith is the first sign of spiritual maturity. But I believe that walking in love is the real test of spiritual intimacy and that it strengthens us in our walk in faith.

The Bible teaches us that faith works through love. Galatians 5:6 tells us that what really matters is "faith which acts through love". Love is neither a discourse nor a theory : it is an act.

Trying to walk by faith without love is like having a flashlight without a battery. We must keep our piles of love charged at all times or our faith will not work ! I believe Christians run into trouble when they don't see the walk in love as an essential part of their faith and relationship with God.

Aspire to live a life full of love, then you will see your faith grow and strengthen. When the love of God is there first, everything else follows.

Listen the voice of God

Let's take the time to listen to what God means. Love is neither a discourse nor a theory : it is an act. In what area, do you need to perform such an act ?

Praying is easy. Talk to God as you would your closest friend. God loves you and he can hear everything. Here is an example prayer : “Lord, I know my faith is useless without love. Help me live a life that is overflowing with your love. Lead me as I receive it and spread it around me."

Praise God

To praise God is to show him our gratitude. Today, what are your subjects of recognition ? Take a moment to thank the Lord.

Act today

Now dig deeper into what you have received. What can you do to apply what God has told you ? Write down the concrete actions you can take.

Honor the Lord

Our route for the day comes to an end. Let us pray together to honor our God.

"Thank you, my God, because you are the model of love par excellence. You did not hesitate to send your son Jesus to die on the cross in my place so that I would be saved. May all the glory return to you !"
