The Rebecca Principle (2)

“You have shown kindness to my lord.” Genesis 24. 14

Before we leave Rebecca, let's learn three more lessons from her generous attitude :

1- If you give with great generosity, you will receive much more than you can imagine ! Jesus said : “The measure which you have used will be used for you” (Matthew 7.2). We determine the measure of divine blessing based on our generosity to others. Rebecca gave much more than she was asked and received far beyond what she could have dreamed of. She became the great-great- (35 times) - Messiah's grandmother! Give as much as you can ; you will be overwhelmed to find out what God will give you in return.

2- If you give generously, your entourage, all those you love will enjoy the blessings that will flow from it. When Abraham’s servant revealed his identity he unpacked his suitcases which were full of beautiful garments and solid gold jewelry to offer them not only to Rebecca but also to her mother and brother. The rewards that will accompany your generosity will also flow to all those who are close to you.

3- If you give generously, the consequences of your generosity will often reflect on future generations, even after you leave this land! As you give, you cannot imagine how your action will influence the lives of people who have not yet been born, but think a little about what our world would be like if Michelangelo had decided : “The ceilings are not. my business”, if Noah had said : “The ships are none of my business”, if David had said : “Goliath is none of my business”, if Mary had thought : “The miraculous conception, this is none of my business”, if Paul had said : “Writing letters does not concern me” or if Jesus had said : “The cross is none of my business” ! A life dominated by generosity will always influence future generations and will be remembered by those who follow you.
