The sense of your testimony

The Church has been expanding for generations. Some ensure the continuity of their testimony, while others have unfortunately left us without posterity. The light of a candle can only be transmitted when it is still lit. Likewise, the testimony of a man can only bear fruit if the person is still alive. In order for the candle light to continue to shine, other candles must be lit before the first one goes out. Thus, the initial light, transmitted by the second candle, then the third, the hundredth, the thousandth and even the ten thousandth candle will continue to shine. This light will perpetuate forever and will extend to the ends of the earth. And even spreading like this, no candle loses intensity. We suffer no loss when we testify. But the more we testify, the better we allow the testimony to perpetuate itself.

What is the testimony ? The Lord sends Ananias to speak to Paul saying : "For you shall be his witness before all men of what you have seen and heard" (Acts 22:15). From this we deduce that the basis of the testimony is what we have seen and heard. You can not witness what you have not seen with your eyes, nor heard with your ears.

Paul had seen something with his own eyes, and heard something with his own ears. God charged him to witness what he had seen with his own eyes and heard with his own ears. The first Epistle of John tells us what the testimony is : "And we have seen and testify that the Father sent the Son as Savior of the world" (1 John 4:14).

A person witnesses what she saw. Thank God that you believed in the Lord. You met Him, you believed in Him, you received Him and you got Him. You are saved. You have been delivered from your sins, you have been forgiven and obtained peace.
