THE sower

Let us think about these few words introducing the parable in Matthew 13:3 to 9 and what they contain.

Who is THE Sower ? He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man (Matthew 13:37). In different ways, the whole Bible reveals the same thing. The Son of God left his Kingdom, his heaven of glory and came to earth. He came out... to come and announce to us the Kingdom of God, to explain it to us.

He left his Father, he left the Father's house to come to this world, to come to us.

He went out to sow..., sow the Word of God. Jesus came to make introductions and tell us about his Father. He, the reflection of his person, came to represent him on earth and make him known to humanity. Jesus was born to reveal the person of God, his Father's heart, his will, his plans, his projects for our world. He came to announce the message of the Good News, a message of love and grace, of forgiveness, of reconciliation, of redemption. He announced his sufferings, his death and his resurrection for the salvation of everyone who believes in him.

Jesus is recruiting. He is looking for sowers to sow the Good News in this world. It's urgent. Will you join the Twelve ? Will you be part of his “team” ? Will you leave your “little kingdom” to go out and proclaim the Kingdom of God ? (Provided... that you are one of them !)
