The spiritual man lives in the eternity

The carnal Christian has no vision concerning eternity. He only thinks of it once a year, unless a preacher mentions it more often. The spiritual Christian has an awakened consciousness concerning eternity. In a way, he already lives in eternity.

Since he lives in eternity, he does not want to profit at all costs from what the world can bring him. He lives in Heaven. Of course, he has to feed himself and take care of the necessary things, but his heart is not there. Since he is from heaven, he lives as a passenger on earth, and his purpose is spiritual. He does not live for himself, but for him who died and rose for him. This is his goal. It's his focus.

The spiritual man constantly thinks of the Kingdom of God and his Lord. The world does not feed him. His food is really doing the will of God, and he pursues that goal. He is focused. His thoughts, his prayers, his words, his actions, the way he uses his time, his talents and his money show that his interests are spiritual. His interests are not human. They are from God. That is why when he acts in the spirit, he knows that God is there, and he is benefiting from it. He benefits from the presence of God because he looks for it more than gold and silver. He seeks to live for God and according to his will, during the time that remains for him to live in the flesh.

Eyes fixed on eternity, the spiritual man knows that the end of all things is near. He knows that all that is carnal will disappear forever. This is why he is committed to investing in what will last. He dwells in the Word of God. He wants to eat it and live it. He wants to experience it. He wants more than anything else the presence of God. This is why he applies himself to being wise and sober, with a view to prayer. His vision of life and how to cross it are decidedly different from that of the carnal Christian! He is willing to pay the price.
